Vanlife Test - We test out the Verizon Inseego 5G Ultra Wideband Hotspot

Work from home is now becoming hybrid work and I want to make sure I have enough coverage when I don't have access to regular WIFI. I compare Verizon's 5G Ultra-Wideband offering and compare it to my AT&T hotspot through my iPhone to see if having both of these coverage options is really needed in order to guarantee the ability to work from the road.

Good unbiased info! When using public/unsecured Wi-Fi while out in Bertha, do you use a VPN?

Its very good modem inside snapdragon x65 like s23 and apple new series the only big problem is no outside antenna to plug in that's why not good for traveling because sometime need a outdoor antenna to boost the signal.

These communication companies are no different from fuel companies and corporations this day and age you should be able to get good signals no matter where you go. Sometimes I get so mad at my iPhone and pack spending so much money for plans and not get a goddamn good signal I feel like throwing the shit out of the window.

@10:00 I've been to Ouray with Verizon. Point blank it is horrible. 30 minutes to Silverton and it's much better Verizon coverage

Cool stuff thanks for sharing. I plan on getting mine next week or so.. How were the speeds after the “allowance” and were you throttled, and how bad was the throttling speeds? Thank you

You are addressing the exact question that I am shopping for now. I have att with a good data but need backup for coverage. I want to work fromRV but need to know I can join the zoom calls and so on. I am going to add Verizon to the mix just need to pick plan and device. It seems 5g won’t be much of a thing for camping as we won’t be in cities. …..will have to guess a bit if I get a g5 hotspots now.

which headphones for this video? here's a free road warrior tip from me. take a look at the Blue Parrot B450XT headset. it lasts all day and can connect to multiple devices. also has its own little handsfree system. (it's what all the truckers wear)

So this router conversion 5g/4glte/uw to local wifi. Does that conversion slow down the speed rate for your local devices? Or is it still fast?

Will this work in a building that has a spotty cellular signal? I just want to have access to the internet for class work while I'm at school. The internet there is TERRIBLE!

If you're doing online gaming, would it make sense to have a router connected?

Great video! Thanks!

Have you kept using it over the past year? I am new to America and will travel around and work mobility.

If so, have you seen the 5G coverage get better since then?

I live in the Chicago metropolitan area. I bought the same exact device 2 months ago and I can tell you that I never got 5G UW connection in any of the advertised Ultra-Wideband coverage areas. That's why I've been in touch with Level 2 tech support, they even reached out to the networking team but in 2 months they didn't come up with a reason why my device doesn't connect to 5G Ultra-Wideband. Just today I received a replacement device from Verizon but that on won't connect either. I am still able to use it as a 5G hotspot device with Speeds up to Upload 100/ Download 50 MBPS but it is really frustrating that I cannot get the Ultra-Wideband speeds which are way faster than what I am getting currently. I am thinking to return the device and cancel the service if they don't fix this soon

What's the power consumption on this thing? How long does it last without being charged? Or should I buy a power bank to go with it?
