When I heard Beyond The Spiderverse will be the last time we’ll see of Miles, I got a bit sad. The character of Miles and Shameik’s voice acting as Miles is done so perfectly. Miles Morales really has become one of my favorite movie characters of all time, mostly thanks to Shameik.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller actually casted Shameik because they missed out on working with him in Star Wars: Solo, which Shameik had auditioned for young Lando but didn’t get the part, and they loved his energy so much that they desperately wanted to work with him on another project so he was their first choice to play Miles.

i remember before spider verse was announced i wanted him to play miles in live action and i also remember being mind blown when he was cast as him in spider verse back in 2017

A couple of things to add, Shameik wrote he was going to Miles in his journal before it manifested. he was asked for a voice sample as a reference and for testing. He was asked only a short while after his movie, Dope, came out (weeks to months later, but not years) and was finally publicized as the lead in early 2017.

Into the Spider-Verse is my first experience with Miles, and Shameik did a great job voicing him! I just hope in Beyond the Spider-Verse Shameik's and Nadji's Miles will meet each other! I think it will be nice for Shameik's Miles to see that he's not alone, and there's another Miles out there!
