I have the D200 with the CCD sensor so I'm happy with that.

I love my D100, use it just as much as my D500 👌

Why do vloggers have to put this same horrible soundtrack bed on all their shows! So annoying I end up cutting them off about 2mins in.

What models got this CCD sensor? I got a 5d mark II and canon 5d classic, 5d mark II and 6d are those awesome cameras with “film like” quality. Maybe event the 5d mark iii.
I’m not married to any brand so I’m looking at a Nikon d700 since I’ve heard that it’s Nikons best camera ever made!

I've had a D70s since its introduction in 2005 and love the 6.1MP CCD sensor. Since I love the look of film images I decided a few months ago to buy a D80 for its "film like" 10MP CCD sensor. Nikon's older CCD-sensored DSLRs are the best game in town. BTW, I settled on the D80 instead of the D200 because the D80 takes readily available SD cards instead of the harder to find CF cards.

Just got Nikon D1X. For $60. Wow. What a camera. What a quality. 5 megapickeles. But photos are high quality. Definitely enough to share on social medias.

Love your enthusiasm! So glad I've just reactivated by original D100 after 12 years in 'hibernation'.

I've just ordered a D100 on a whim as I saw one for 41 GBP on my favourite used camera gear website. I am exited to play with it and immediately came to YouTube to see what I'm in for. You enthusing about the CCD sensor has got me even more hyped up. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Fuji X-trans sensor on my XT-2. Will be dusting off my old Nikkors and trying to find a CF card that is compatible (I'm guessing it needs to be of similar vintage). Great to see such enthusiasm for solid, old and still useful gear.

D70 is great; I’m using now 🙃 Great CCD Sensor and I love and I love forever 😘

Something else about a D100 is that it has an early infrared blocking filter on the sensor which doesn't work very well. So fluffy white clouds look a bit different and you can get reasonably bright infrared pictures with a 720nm filter on the front of the lens. Focussing with an infrared filter is a bit difficult as there is no live view and you can't see anything with the filter on, but shooting lots and deleting the bad images costs nothing bar the time.

I like CCD cameras. My favourite is probably my D80 as it does everything a D200 can do in a smaller package, although it will die from the built in fault eventually.

This video popped up in my feed because I was searching for information on a newly purchased D100 last night. Instead of buying the D200 that I kind of wanted I ended up buying a d100, a D50, and a D40 to add to my Nikon DSLR from 20 years ago.... a kit D5000.

Because I was mainly into outdoors and hiking and mountains a DSLR just didn't work out for me at that time but I'm a little nostalgic and I'm shooting everything from outdoor scenery to street photography with my Nikon lenses so I went ahead and subscribed to your channel. I only peeked at a couple of videos but I like your no-nonsense views on photography and cameras!

Cheers

Watched your video on the D1X (just bought one) and then this was recommended to me. You’re at the Park of Roses! Love it. These old CCD sensors undeniably have a certain look. Cheers.

In my opinion, the Fuji S5 Pro is the best CCD digital camera ever made.

Greatest CCD sensor IMO is the SuperCCD inside the Fuji S5 Pro. Its a Nikon D200 with Fuji branding and their incredible sensor inside it. Close 2nd is the Canon Powershot G3.

The D40 and D60 10mp are good too. They're CCD but you can't get a 300dpi print bigger than 8x10 from them. If that's a restriction you're ok with get one.

I need this camera for my Nikon dslr collection I love the blues and greens I get from the d200 and yellow and reds I get from the d700, curios about the do.

Nice video! The nostalgia is part of it, but the cameras of that era were really nice and a great bridge to either using more modern DSLR's and to use the film cameras that came right before it. I haven't shot the D100, but have D70's and D200's and others from the era just after

I have a friend who wanted to get into film photography and I gave them a Nikon D70, and the only downside I could think of is that the D70 (or D100's) won't meter with the old AI/AI-S lenses, but other than that they are perfect cameras for someone who wants to start to do more serious photography!

i recently repaired my D100 (full sensor swap from a water damaged unit i got for cheap on ebay) and i have to agree, the ccd vibes and colors are just so special, it's too bad we don't have any sort of modern ccd options

I bought the D1X, D100 and Fujifilm S-3 Pro new when they came out. I was doing wedding and portrait photography back then. I made enlargements up to 24x30 inches for clients with those cameras. Sadly the D1X died years ago and the screen died on the Fujifilm S-3 Pro (the camera still works, you just can't view the images). The D100 has a few hot pixels on the screen but works just fine. I picked up another S-3 Pro recently very cheaply off Ebay. The older CCD sensors definitely have a special look to them. :)
