A total of 27 people have been killed due to heavy rain in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for a second day in a row. Several areas in the two states are flooded, disrupting road traffic and normal lives. Rail operations were also affected.

Budameru is not a tributary of krishna river. The rivelet will merge into “Kolluru” lake. For the last five years, no clean up activity was done, and banks of budameru are dug for sand and soil. This budameru criss crosses Vijayawada city, and many layouts have come up in the last few years and these are mainly flooded now.
