Today I'm Transforming To Girly Glam | TRANSFORMED

LEYA, 22 from Idaho, describes her style as dark, punk-gore and menhera - and refers to herself as a ‘bloody monster elf’. She is obsessed with anything medical/body related - blood, eyeballs, hearts and has various accessories that mimic them. The 22-year-old says she felt inspired by elves after playing fantasy games when she was younger to escape reality because ‘reality is so boring’. She said: "It’s a huge part of my identity and if I don’t dress like this I don’t feel like myself." Today, Leya is being transformed into a pastel babe. How will she react to seeing herself in a completely different aesthetic? Will her friends prefer her new look?

Leya was so much fun to work on! She was the sweetest person and we had a great conversation. She is truly an artist in her own way. She truly appreciated the makeover for what it was. She had such a great attitude and was so open. You definitely can't judge someone by only their appearance. One of the BEST days as a makeup artist! It was fun to see her smile and appreciate her own beauty! This was the first for me and my team but we could do this all day! So fun and rewarding!

I love Japanese street fashion and I always thought Menhera and Yamikawaii are so cool. Leya really does a great job at embodying it!

But so is the makeup artist they really brought out her best natural features. That shade they used for her lips was dark for my taste but suits her perfectly wow

I'm really happy with all these kinds of videos. They really go deeper into a more personal sense of style than just "goth" or "kawaii" or a basic umbrella term. It really helps me, and I'm assuming other people, who are looking for inspiration to create their own unique style.
