The One Item From Trader Joe's That Will Never Stay Fresh

Not only is everything at Trader Joe’s affordable, but their products are actually amazing. From their Two Buck Chuck and range of sumptuous cheeses, to frozen food and wholesome organic ingredients, Trader Joe’s is food heaven.

However, there are two very annoying things about Trader Joe’s. One is that the best food items get pulled off the shelf way too soon, and the other is that there is no bread from Trader Joe’s that doesn’t spoil. No matter your pick of bread or where you store it, they will all go moldy superfast.

We decided to get to the bottom of this strange phenomenon and found the answer. This is the real reason Trader Joe’s bread goes bad so fast.

What's the best thing to grab from Trader Joe's?

I keep bagels and sandwich bread in the freezer. It lasts a lot longer and once you take them out, they look as fresh as they did as when you placed them in.

I’m not sure what these reviewers are doing but that’s never happened to me and I’ve been shopping there for years.

Keep it the fridge and/or freezer and it will be just fine ♥️

I have a way to keep freezer burn off of frozen bread. Before you store your load in the freezer, take all of the bread at once out of the bag. Then grab a roll of paper towels, wrap the length of the bread all the way around the load, lengthwise. Put the bread back in the plastic bag and put it in the freezer. Done! You're good to go

I think I remember this happening once, when I bought Trader Joe's bread and didn't finish it within two days. This is why I only buy the demi baguettes, they don't take long to finish.

I regularly find turned tomatoes at TJ's, other fruits too.

Put in fridge!! My TJS bread doesn't go moldy in the fridge, and lasts much longer than exp.date.

I don't know about all of their breads but the ciabatta and the baguette bread comes frozen to begin with. I've gotten it a couple of times when it still hasn't been fully thawed out. I was thinking maybe that's why their bread turns quickly.

Tip I got from lady coworker. Use bread for lunch when you get home then freeze it immediately

I make my own bread with no preservatives and it take a week for it to go moldy (if it ever lasts that long)

I’m glad… it means it’s not full of preservatives.

Hmm here in Adelaide Australia I get locally made sourdough and rye bread that I can leave out on the kitchen table it just goes dry and hard, must be the climate over there.
