Our roof plumber Darren shows you how to install a barge capping flashing on a gable roof. The roofing sheet profile on this roof was corrugated iron in COLORBOND. These instructions can be used with both COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® steel.

 What is a barge capping?
Waterproof the junction between the fascia or barge board and roof sheeting, providing an attractive finish to the roof. 

What is a gable roof?
A gable roof is the classic, most commonly occurring roof shape in those parts of the world. It consists of two roof sections sloping in opposite directions and placed such that the highest, horizontal edges meet to form the roof ridge.

FYI - It's actually a requirement in AS 1562.1:2018 section 4.8.3 to fix on upper and side. HB 39:2015 section 8.7 shows the use of concealed fastening clips for side so fixings are not visible.

Perfect for my steel roof project. Tvm. Quick question. I used a damp proof membrane over marine ply wood and then put the steel roof over the dpm but im getting mold on the inside of the ply wood. Where do i apply insulation? Between dpm and steel roof, between dpm and ply, or inside shed and apply to inside ply wood? Thanks
