I lugged around a corded hi torque Makita for years before decent battery drills came out so this doesn't bother me .

The new hilti linup while it may be good but it is definitely outclassed by the competition.nothing can justify the size of that drill and i can bet you a Milwaukee will still beat it in terms of power and a makita will probably last as long.

Nice looking drill she must be a monster in speed one it would be nice to see againts other hammer drill like milwaukee and makita xgt screwing 10" lag in a log

Soooo, the 64 dollar question is why? Is this bringing some serious torque? This is looking like my 3/4 hp old metal body Craftsman drill motor. The most dangerous tool i own, it does not stall. If the drill bites in thick steel you had better be fast on the release. Release meaning hands off, not trigger. It will snap your wrist like a twig.

I usually call DCD999 a battleship drill. But this Hilti is... at least a Dreadnaught... o_O)!

Hilti does best at all mansory tools, as for drills, Makita wins hand down
