I love how I can take my dog anywhere in any situation, makes life so much easier. Just hope new pup turns out the same way.

Lack of confidence and self-control is the core of most issues people have with their dog that I've come across personally. Too many people encourage the excited, playful puppy, but forget to bring down her nerves after playtime and calm her down she thinks shes always gotta operate at full intensity lol. I have two Chihuahua mixes that were that way when I got them. They've learned to relax since then. Food puzzles and brushing before bed helped A LOT

I have a 6 month old lab puppy. She knows sit stay etc. and can walk loose leash, however every time she sees a person she goes nuts and all training goes out the window. I hope one day I can take her places it’s really sad.

We are on our fourth Cavalier. The first three were one to three years old. All were very easy to work with. My girlfriend just got her first ever puppy. A ruby Cavalier named Honey. I emptied my travel satchel and put her in it on day one. At seven months I put her bag on the couch and she gets in. She goes everywhere and behaves beautiful. At home and out of the bag she's a puppy. Doing puppy stuff.

I just saw a video on the dodo about xl bullys having to wear muzzles. I know the law has been in place for a while, but i just now had this idea and wanted to kind of cross post my comment to see if maybe you would think my idea is a possibility.

"They should have a way to test out of wearing a muzzle. Where once a year you go into a course where the dog is walked through a typical day out and about. Walk down a busy street, walk through a stretch of park or something like that. With a certified dog trainer as the tester. If the dog passes, they can have a little collar or tag and a certificate, which means they have tested and passed and may go out without a muzzle.

Anyone in the UK, do you think there could be a chance to get an amendment to the law? These poor dogs don't deserve to all be punished for the mistakes of a few bad owners, and it could solve the aggressive problems, too. Even dogs that don't pass one year could retest after going through a certified training course. [Will Atherton] on youtube would probably be the best person to start gathering support to put this forward in the UK."

What do you think? Would there be a possibility that a petition to chance the law to allow for certified "good boy" bullys?

On the flip side, for anyone thinking oh god my dog could never do that and I’m a terrible dog owner.. most people do not take their dog everywhere with them, I don’t even think dogs are allowed in gyms. Getting your dog to be calm and comfortable at home on their own for extended periods of time is much more useful than being able to take your dog everywhere with you.

My GSD has zero manners, off the lead on a walk he’s great, will run just ahead of me, come back straight away. As soon as he’s on a lead he barks pretty much non stop! 🤦🏼‍♂️

My shitsu attacks literally. Everyone put my mum, older brother, and sister. The sound of someone coming down the stairs or a car pulling up to the driveway immediately sets her in attack mode. My younger brother refuses to enter the kitchen if the dogs there. And I'm getting to that point myself.

But why take your dog everywhere?

Unless it’s an assistant dog, and you have a disability, shouldn’t be taking it everywhere.
Don’t get me wrong maybe your dog is great and won’t interfere with working teams, but a lot of people think it’s ok to take there dogs with them when they then start barking and reacting to working teams, who have no choice, either with their disability/assistance dog or not at all.

Sorry this isn’t ment as a go at you, but people see this and think you are giving them the ahead.
