How to get thavnairian onions through gardening

need a house to use the garden system or become a tenant in a friends house.

DONT FORGET TO WATER YOUR PLANTS OTHERWISE THEY WILL DIE!!!
step one
buy 4 8 or 12 of the chocobo feed seeds depending on how many garden beds you have. can mix and match.
step 2 gather old world fig seeds 2 to 4 am/pm in the forelands as a botanist.
step 3 gather,buy or exchange unidentifiable ores for grade 3 thanalan topsoil
step 4 buy deluxe garden plots 1 for small 2 for medium 3 for large houses vendor near the resident caretaker sells em for 48k gil
step 5 plant the chocobo seed in the corner of the flowerbed and then old world fig in the next plot till all 8 are filled. chocobo seeds should always be in the corners and not be harvested until you are ready to grow something else.
step 6 replace fig seed plots after harvest with royal kukuru bean seeds to crossbreed with the others for thavnairian seeds.
step 7 rinse and repeat for more onions seeds.
step 8 use single garden planters in your house to grow onions to free up garden plots.

alternative way run alexander burden of the father pass in tokens for gear trade into the grand company for duck bones sell them and buy the onions off the market.

Wouldn't be easier to get Royal Kukuru from crossing Mirror Apple with Old World Fig, and Mirror Apple with Krakka Root for Curiel Root? Mirror Apple is gatherable outside Camp Dragonhead, or with your retainer. The only seed you have to buy is Krakka Root.

If you are looking to level your chocobo remember two quests in game give 2 free onions (1 each). Save yourself time and or 200k gil. Just look up the onions on the wiki and it’ll tell you the quests

first time trying this, i'm trying to crossbreed curiel root and royal kurukuru. im a few days in, and the curiel root is ready to be harvested, but the kurukuru isn't. do i just not harvest the curiel root, and continue watering and fertilizing the kurukuru? thanks for the guide! super helpful

Leveling your chocobudddy past rank ten ain't even worth it. Just leave it in healer stance regardless of the job you play for fates. If you're looking to get the chocobo suit for glam you get that at 10. You can also leave it in free stance so that it dps, a when it can and heal itself. If you're playing a healer or tank that doesn't require the healing. Or for the extra dps when doing maps.
