Landlady Gets Livid

The plaintiffs, a married couple, say they rented a house from the defendant. They claim she started to harass them and even threatened to burn the house down. They’re suing for a rent refund, security deposit, and harassment. The defendant says the plaintiff posted derogatory things online, so she’s suing for defamation and unpaid rent. #JudgeMathis #RealityTV #Court

That's why judge Millian likes to read directly from the phone.

“Judge Gets Livid” should have been the title of this debacle. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

She had a very valid point about the apps being able to add text to printouts of text messages, he ignored her proof that would have shown a discrepancy and then dismissed her case because she was trying to explain what actually happened. He could have asked to see both of their phones to corroborate, and then justice would have been served with the facts. Judge Mathis Failed to deliver justice in this case.

What landowner threatens to burn down a property they own? It doesn't make sense.

I've never heard of a tenant filing a restraining order against a Landlord while living in landlords house!!!

When JM comes in with his head down, says start with you and hits that pen 2 times on the podium you bet not do nothing wrong or you lost. JM getting old and sometimes he's unreasonable.

The defendant was trying to say she’s half white, therefore, she didn’t write those text messages. That was her reason for saying that statement in the beginning. However, JM didn’t allow her to finish because he was too busy talking about who can and cannot say certain words.

I think the judge lost his cool, and should have heard the case in its entirety without the emotional outburst. Justice was not served.

I know many people with "Housing authority" benefits. Just as good as any other renters. KInda bad generalization. Most of us are 1 paycheck away from needing some type of help from the government.

I’m sorry but thumbs DOWN TO THIS ONE! Judge Mathis was tripping at the end. I believed the defendant and he was not hearing her!

This is why I like Judge Millian from the peoples court she asks for the phones to read it from the phone and to get all the context. Any tech savvy person can fake messages then print them out

Judge should have listened to the Defendant as she was directing him to page 44, JM was very angry, not sure why though?? The Defendant was also respectful, but she did not get a fair hearing.

The fact that they tried to run a scam from the beginning tells you that they might have tried to scam using that app I believe the defendant

Housing authority usually says how much they will pay and the tenant has to pay the difference so how is this a scam? A landlord says how much they want in rent, then housing authority determines how much the tenants are illegible for and the tenant is responsible for paying the difference.

Doesn’t sound like that landlord got livid, it sounds like the judge did
