2017 Fiat 500 Lounge – Redline: Review

As buyers continue to move away from small cars, the even smaller micro car segment has taken a huge dip in sales. Which doesn't help brands like Fiat who came back to the states in 2011 with the pint size 500 hatchback. A full redesign is in the works.

Very straight man and I own the 500C. I would describe the cars style as European not girly.

Girly ?! I am a 6'2 200lb construction worker and I drive the exact fiat you're showing us!

So it's a girly car, one that a "straight" man probably wouldn't drive... I wasn't aware that sexual orientation had anything to do with reviewing cars. I think those comments say more about the reviewer than the car...

That was weird how he gave the car a gender role

This guy obviously Hates this car....so why let him review it? I've owned a Fiat 500 Lounge since fast .... I drive 70-80 MPH and it keeps up with traffic wonderfully...and given the real world traffic and congestion on most roads ...it is more than capable is quiet and comfortable...has a great entertainment reliable...and comes with a 4 year warranty and it is serviced at any Chrysler dealership....I love my Fiat 500....

Weird how the US didn’t get the refresh with the led front and rear lights. Also some people here still think a small car equals unsafe and girly and I don’t think that is the case anymore, I’d totally rock a black 500 Abarth.

I got hit by a Fiat 500 recently. I had to go to the hospital and have it removed.

I have a straight male friend who has one and loves it. I am gay guy and I wouldn’t drive it. Just too toy-like for my taste. Let’s not include remarks in car reviews based on stereotypes of gender and orientation. You know how many straight guys in Europe drive this car? Lots.

I seen many straight men driving fiats. Depending on the color, its not a entirely feminine car. Even then, the color options are not totally Barbie like. A pink fiat is a rare one and blue is blue. Blue is stereotypically a boys color. If your looking for a inexpensive, practical car, a fiat is a good option. If your looking for speed or a racing car, it might not be for you unless you consider a abarth. If its such a crappy car, why are they so popular ? The lounge model is not a sport car. Why would anyone expect power from a car that is just for driving from A to B?

We have a 2017 500 and it really has been a great car. In Mexico City it’s an amazing car, easy to park and maneuver and it has surprisingly enough space on the inside. We’ve fitted a month’s worth of groceries in it and even a small ironing table! It’s a bit dated though however the engine in the city doesn’t need more power.

Ok, for me, being married for 25 years, I must be in another class of dudeness. I love my 2012 Pop model. Bright red, it's a fun car to drive. I bought mine used, so the cost was downright reasonable. On the highway, I'm getting around 42mpg. It ain't a Porsche, but for me, it's a blast to drive. It handles well in any weather conditions, and i live in Indianapolis. I'm hoping that exterior wise, they don't do much of a change. I love the look of this car, and people constantly give me compliments about its looks. The 500 has a Sport Mode button, which gives it a bit more zip. But it does cut down on your mileage. I don't use it much except when getting on the freeway. When the Sport button is engaged, the steering gets a lot tighter, and I don't care for the feel. But overall, it's just a really fun car to drive...

Hmm, today's the day I question my sexual orientation I guess.

Retrofuturism would enjoy this

Love these little cars! Always have. The quirkiness is what attracts me. Glad to watch the updated 500 5MT video. Looking forward to an Abarth video of you ever get your hands on one. They’re a blast to drive.

Remember this is a city car, meant for large metropolitan cities with tight parking, low speed limits, lots of traffic. I've driven one of these and they're perfect for city driving, they're quick-ish off the line, but of course the base engine will be slow, it isnt designed to be used cross country, go get a 500X instead. I think its a great looking car, though the electric is so ugly.

Love your channel and love your reviews in general. However, this review I think should be removed since it really is sexist and ignorant in the introduction and lost you some subscribers and credibility.

I would rather go fast in a slow car than slow in a fast car... this car is a blast to drive!.. i have 188, 000 miles on my 2012 Pop and it still puts a smile on my face with every trip! I will never fail to blow other cars off the line (as long as they are not trying to beat me!).. And BTW, it is a much smoother drive than the Mini.
