Wilkerson: U.S. Fuels Netanyahu's Criminal War Machine

The Biden administration has been pursuing a reckless policy in the Middle East in which Israel's massacres in Gaza and now in Lebanon are unconditionally supported with deliveries of 2,000 lb bunker-busting bombs and diplomatic cover. Col. Larry Wilkerson, who served as former Chief of Staff to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, discusses Iran's policy of strategic patience in which a response to Israel's extra-judicial killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July, as well as a fatal strike on Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, possibly came too late according to Iran's hardliners.

What happened to Congress having to approve war measures?
And a 21 day ceasefire?
No.
A PERMANENT ceasefire and a free Palestine and Lebanon.

Always enlightening to listen to Col. Wilkerson. He is informative, prescient, and an astute analyst.

It's great to listen to Col. Wilkerson. The interviewer should know enough to know we prefer to listen to him, not the interviewer

Understanding the Middle East requires an understanding of the history of oil...
The French, the English and Americans presided over the 1919 break-up of the Ottoman Empire.
With the help of geologists, lawyers and petroleum companies they elevated local families to that of princely rulers of small states like Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and of course, Arabia. Local people didn't always agree providing a degree of ready made animus between these arbitrary states. This is how the Brits rule. The method is to keep them fighting with each other and not the Europeans.
Was it Biden who recently said “If there wasn't a state of Israel, we'd have to invent it.” ?
Media manufactured cover stories, provide a human interest distraction from the real forces driving the conflict. This does not minimized the genocide going on in Gaza, it just tells you the lengths that the powerful will go to secure their interests.
On a personal note, how can I vote for Biden or Trump? They are both charlatans and hypocrites.

Even if the US should ”wake up” and started to behave like human beings it would take a time for many of us to trust you again. A long long time. And that is if you start to do good things, not what you say that you do…

And yet Israel also massacres civilians when it assassinates. This is deliberate.

LARRY WITH THAT FRAME BEHIND HIM ALWAYS LOOKS LIKE HE’S STEPPING OUT OF A TIME MAGAZINE MAN OF THE YEAR COVER. POETIC JUSTICE!

The colonel also flew helicopters in vietnam so he know's how nasty brutal and needless the empires wars are.
That should always be mentioned first in his intro fyi for next time i hope.

I was surprised to hear Larry repeat the "safe haven" myth used to justify imperialism in West Asia. I was hoping to hear him mention the "unsinkable aircraft carrier" strategy and how invested in it the ruling class is, and what the future looks like given how embattled our various imperial proxies are.

Great interview, though. Pleasant to hear him push back on liberal-imperialist "both sides" rhetoric that condemns resistance by the colonized.

The host misses the point of china and russias policy towards trade. They aren’t doing sanctions or weaponizing trade. That’s the whole point of their trade cooperation.
