Billy Strings - Beautiful solo performance of Miss the Mississippi and You at Hoxeyville 2017

Billy Strings performed a couple of songs without his band during his Sunday night set at the 2017 Hoxeyville Music Festival including this lovely rendition of Miss the Mississippi and You.
Composed by Bill Halley, it was first recorded and popularized by Jimmy Rogers in the 1930's and later by one of Billy's biggest musical heroes and influences, Doc Watson.

Enough cannot be said about how amazing this song is and billy brings new light to it, I’m only 15 and I find Billy’s and even Jimmie Rodgers music to be some of the best music that’s every existed. We need a younger generation listening to this!

When he plays that guitar solo without a rhythm guitar, bass or any other instrument backing him and hits every note perfectly with great timing and rhythm, there is only one thing you can say, GENIUS!!
