as someone who is latinx, that joke towards Salina wasn’t that bad considering Salina’s primary aesthetic on the show is to exaggerate a stereotypical “chola” character. she most definitely forces an accent when in that character and i’m shocked she took Irene’s joke so defensively. like you’re capitalizing off a stereotype that anglo people see latinx women as yet you can’t handle when someone calls you out for it? i can understand being told this by a white person though could pinch a nerve.
