Paul: I’m Going to Lift My Head up High & Be a Good Dad

"African Services Committee saved my life and that’s the greatest miracle that could have ever happened to me. My goal is to heal, work part time and go to school part time. I just want to lift my head up high and be a good role model for my son, provide for my son,” says ASC client Paul. At ASC’s Harlem offices, he received a variety of urgent help: Health screening and navigation to affordable medical care from ASC’s Testing Center, an apartment with the aid of ASC’s Housing Assistance team, counseling from ASC case managers and mental health counselors, nutritious food from ASC’s pantry, and a work permit and ongoing asylum application from ASC’s legal team.
