absolutely love the skill of operators when your going out of your mind in distress. my mam had a fall split her head open still concious first phonecall i was assured ambulance on the way we ended the call to free the line "understandable" 40 mins later mom still laid on the floor at this point im panicing calls 999 again, WHERE THE HELL IS THE AMBULANCE? MOM STILL ON FLOOR CRYING BLOOD GUSHING OUT THE SIDE OF HER HEAD I DONT WANNA LOSE MY MOM! lady on the phone calms me down she understood why i was upset she knew we needed help, even though i was screaming where are you! lady stayed calm it wasnt personal we were just desperate. must take alot to deal with that looking back i dont think i could do the job myself. im sorry i just paniced. love the operators they do a fantastic job! Angels really do exist

I’ve taken several of these kinds of calls back in the states. They’re never easy, full of emotion and are very draining. One rarely gets closure and rarely gets outside recognition. Regardless, it feels great knowing all the lives I/we emergency medical dispatchers save.
