I sincerely believe that there is just one guy working on 2042 at DICE, which would make this update actually really impressive for one guy to do, well done guy 👌

Remember when Tsar DLC for BF1 brought 6 new maps, 2 new factions, countless new vehicles, weapons, skins, etc all packed with new operations, new cutscenes, new voicelines, new soundtrack...

For those who appreciate historical context: Battlefield 4 had more guns in one class at launch than this entire game has altogether. Let that sink in.

This is insane.

I understand like Jack said, they had to pull people off stuff to fix it but it's absolutely unacceptable to not just launch in this state but throw scraps like this out.

2042 is giving me some major Battlefield 2142 vibes...

...not in terms of its quality, content, style, or originality - but in terms of its remarkably lackluster post-launch content when compared to entries that came before it.

The map looks nice, and the gameplay is starting to feel more like a Battlefield game, but it simply needs more content. The lack of maps/ weapons is unacceptable. This game was released at least a year or two too early.

this new specialist is definately created as a response to the vehicle spam, what's going to happen now is that we will have like 20 liz all with TV guided rockets, and it seems absurdly powerful.

why won't they have more destruction. like maybe exploding a mountain side or have tunnels collapse. coming into 2042, all the talk was about destruction, and we didn't get ANYthing new. a few buildings here and there and even those don't affect the gameplay. This entire game so far, as much as they tried to mimic bf4, is really a let down.

Yeah if one 2042 map takes as long as four maps from Battlefield 3 or 4 take to create then yes increasing the player count was absolutely a mistake.

Jack didn't even need to say he thought it was all underwhelming, he breezed through that new info so quickly. I'll likely head back in for the first time in 4 months or so for the new map, but certainly share Jack's feelings.

Honestly the map alone looks so much better than any of the ones that were released with launch. so much more interesting to look at and more detailed hopefully the release maps can be reworked in the same way

One of my biggest issues with 2042 is it's aesthetic all together. I can't explain why but the game just looks so bland and lifeless, borderline cartoonish.

Honestly i feel like Battlefield was amazing when they made Vietnam way back when.
The reason was Armor and Air were somewhat limited and you could deal with almost anything as a foot soldier if you had no choice.
You could disable a tank if you tossed all your grenades into the tracks if you hid in the deeper grass they would have a hell of a time finding you the game didn't overly give you away on radar etc either no hud markers.
You could shoot down jets and choppers if you hit them enough, Obviously it wasnt easy but possible you could atleast force them to leave and resupply/repair.
Since then it just feels like you dont have much chance at all unless you run with a rocket launcher.
And only armor counters armor etc otherwise.
The problem i have with that is the Fun Factor it was mostly a soldier based game with some support in form of vehicles.
I liked BC-BC2-BF3 BF4 just fine just not as much as BFV, this also looks fun but hectic but again with the overwhelming vehicles.
