🍇Malagouzia is one of the most important greek wine-producing varieties and they are originally from Aetoloakarnania!

⏳In the '70s-'80s the variety came close to extinction, but after specific actions by specific winemakers and scientists it was saved and today it has gained a big share in white winemaking variety production.

🍷It is characterised by its mild yellow-green colour, its mild acidity and oily feeling in the mouth. Its bouquet usually consists of citrus flowers, prunes, citrus fruit, rose and mint. If cultivated in hot climates, it gives notes of mango, passion fruit and pineapple. Sweet varieties give notes of oranges, honeycomb and honeysuckle.

🍴It accompanies ideally chicken, fish, fatty and non-fatty cheeses, fruit and pasta. The sweeter varieties combine perfectly with desserts, especially fruity ones.

⚗️It blends exceptionally well with other white varieties, such as Sauvignon Blanc and Asyrtico and in some cases in reminds of Viognier.
