How To Fix Windows 10 Backup Issues [Tutorial]

This tutorial should hopefully address issues you guys are having when trying to create a backup and restore your Windows 10 computer.

Having a system backup is always useful, especially if your system gets corrupt or damaged. Although system backup is a great feature, it can sometimes fail to work on Windows 10, so let’s see how to fix it.

If you not able to get Windows 10 backup to work or complete, this tutorial is for you.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

It's probably better to use "chkdsk /f /r" from the command tool as administrator instead of selecting properties from the Explorer. That way if the drive is in use, the system will do the check on boot before using the drive.

I'm building a new web server based upon a fanless industrial computer with i5 CPU and Windows 10 Pro pre installed. I'm trying to image the drive after setting up the web server, but I cannot image the drive. No matter how large the destination drive, I always come back later to find out that there is not enough space error displayed. The drive to be backed up is 32GB total. The destination drive is 240GB. I also tried a 1TB ext USB drive. All attempts fail with the same error. This is the first time I have encountered this error on Windows 10 Pro as I have several other machines with older builds of Win 10 that backup just fine.
If I can't fix this, I'm going to have to resort to Acronis software, which I don't like to use because I have to shut down the server to make a backup.

Simplest solution as it turns out is just not to use windows backup. It is terrible and so many have issues with it. Third party software is much better, I used paragon which worked great.

I tried minitool shadowmaker, but it's a bit of lie, was having same failures I was having with windows but just without windows error codes. Paragon worked a treat though.

I rented a used computer until I can get my old computer fixed. It reformats to 39% then hangs. Will this method fix that error? I may just have to get another used one to replace the used one. A back up to replace the back up. lol
