Idahoan Psalter: Psalm 77

Показать описание
The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 77th psalm.
Lyrics:
Unto God I lift my voice, yea unto God I lift my plea,
Out of deepest distress and sore agony,
For my wounds do not heal, but bleed profusely,
While my soul finds no respite, nor tranquility,
And sleep from mine eyes forever doth flee.
And so, through the night, both dark and long,
All alone I raise unto God this song:
Hath God forgotten His promise to me?
Hath He grown too weary to deal graciously?
Has God deserted me permanently?
Will He grant me favor and grace no more?
Doth He in anger no longer show mercy?
Will He never to me His kindness restore?
No—God is the same as He was from of old.
Let me call to remembrance what I’ve been told,
Of His wondrous works in our forefathers’ day,
And refuge I’ll find now in following His way!
Oh God, Your power was displayed, for Your people all to see,
When the sons of Israel You redeemed and set free.
The ocean’s waves tremble with fear,
When they behold You drawing near!
Clouds pour down rain at Your command,
To water all the thirsty land,
Or fiery arrows to consume those on whom You pronounce doom!
Your voice reverberates on high, like thunder rolling ‘cross the sky!
Your light, like lightning doth illuminate,
All the earth, which trembles and doth quake,
Through all perils You shepherd Your chosen flock,
Through all perils You shepherd Your chosen flock!
