I bought one of these and this was my experience with it. I direct filled rifle tanks without issues never more than once every half hour. When I started to fill SCBA tanks that did not go so well. I ran it straight for about 20 to 30 minutes and that melted the 2nd stage piston rings and no longer could get past 3000 psi just like that. I contacted VEVOR via online only and followed instructions and answered all questions, within a few weeks VEVOR sent me out 2 new sets of 2nd stage piston rings free of charge. I installed new piston rings, and the compressor is now working properly again. 1st stage rings were fine. To VEVOR, I recommend that an extra 2nd stage piston ring set should come with unit as mine did not, this would have left me more satisfied with this purchase and reduced stress. To users if filling tanks, I would not run straight, I don’t know what the magic number is, but run to long and it will melt down no matter what you do. Some say 20 minutes, I will never run more than 10 minutes myself between cool down periods is my plan going forward. Also, this is not a “Yong Heng” and parts are not the same. Parts for this one must go through VEVOR. Patients is a virtue here, Ha.

What I can say is that it probably had a bad contact in the electrical part (basically tightening a screw on an electrical socket, it happened to me which activates the second stage of the compressor). Another tip is to use quality radiator fluid and never, ever cool it with water. I've had my china compressor for about 3 years and I change the oil (5w30 that I use in the car) every year religiously.

(TIP) Put coolelements from the freezer in your bucket of water....it will keep your compressor alot cooler. kind regards Joshua 😊

Very well, the only thing you said that participated in the futuristic assembly and that I think was a disaster was: making the new RTI MORA have the charge handle only on the left side, that's very stupid, see if you can change that to be reversible on both sides. Fix it. Tx.

It work great and good price, but you have to take a super care of it because if it breakdown! You will need god mode to find replacement part… and it would be faster just to buy another.

Please do not use water to cool the compressor, it will create gum and oxidation where the water circulates. Unless you want to dismantle it every year to avoid heating problems. Use a coolant that we use in radiators and a quality one that says it is suitable for mixing metals such as aluminum.

They publish it on their website only to reach 300 bar of pressure. But it may go up to 350 or 420 bar aswell. Why is this ?

I use the vevor oiless $170 one. It says 4500 psi but i do push it more on my gk1 i worry more about the fill hose blowing. The max i filled mine was approx 4800 psi but i dnt recommend doing that.

Saya sedang mengembangkan kompresor biasa untuk menjadi kompresor pcp, cuma kendalanya di selang pipa stainless penghubung tekanan tinggi sulit saya dapatkan.

@Gregor Kamensek you can fill guns/bottles up to 350 Bar with no Problem. And 6.8l or 9l bottle as well. A 6.8l bottle takes from 0-300 Bar estimated 1h. In 2x 30 min runs you can do this with 15 min break. And topping of a 6.8l from 250-300bar estimated 12-15 min. I use this compressors a lot. But the original water/oil filter is way to small for bottles. Even for guns it is not good. Its filtration is not high enough. And the oil they advertise in the manual vg46 is wrong oil. The correct oil for piston compressors is vg100. Vg46 is to thinn, trust me. VG46 is for screw compressors.

Hello, I have been watching your video and I would like to ask you a question, I want to buy a compressor but I don't know which one, can you tell me what you think of the Vevor compressor, and which one you recommend, I like the Vevor and the Tuxing TXES021, I would really appreciate your opinion, greetings Pedro Luque from Spain.

Hi Gregor, thanks a lot for your videos!
Could you please just tell me what pistol (model) you fill at first in this video? 🙂

It almost look like the Yong Heng without the cover. Is it a clone or rebrand? If it is a clone I wonder how the quality is compared to Yong Heng. Yong Heng seems to be a good budget quality compressor.

Why you didn't fill the GK1 up to 350Bar? This Compressor can do 350 Bar easily

Gregor... is there an idiot-proof compressor you can recommend for me?

I have a company near me that can fill up tanks and I planned to get one or two 6.8L Tuxing carbon fibre bottles and get them filled when necessary. I won't be shooting hundreds of rounds per day.

However, with what happened with the lockdowns I'm cautious about having my own air supplies (both electric and manual just in case the power goes down).

So after looking at what's out there I liked the look of the Hill compressor but that's overkill for me & too pricey. I wasn't really keen on anything else so decided I will get the tanks, get them filled by the scuba diving company near me and if I'm unable to go there I will manually top up the tanks with a Hill hand pump every single time after filling my gun (so the tank pressure doesn't drop too low).

Do you think this is a good solution.? Or can you recommend a top notch low maintenance compressor that won't be ridiculously expensive?

Thanks
