There's a philosophy brought up in Voltaire's Candide called "the best of all possible worlds" and this was a fairly common perspective on the creation of Allah at that time. Basically it describes that because of the perfection of Allah, of all possible worlds that could exist, Allah would logically make the one that was the best of all possible worlds. This concept is mocked throughout the book, but at the end of the book, you can't help but cry because all of the main characters put their trust in Allah and ended up happy - even though it was not the outcome they had expected. The story of Salman Al-Farasi (RA) is an excellent real-life example. He put his faith in Allah and endured his trials, so Allah took him from a nation of disbelief and put him in the company of the Prophet ﷺ.
