It's the end of December AND the end of 2022 and that means it's time for another round up of all the new and exciting stuff coming soon to MiSTer FPGA! The PlayStation 1 (PS1/PSX) has gotten some fun updates! Sega Saturn FPGA core has gotten multiple updates and is working better than before! Atari Jaguar is coming (again) to MiSTer FPGA. On this episode of our MiSTer series we are going to be talking about the recent happenings in the MiSTer FPGA scene in December! PS1 now has a second core that runs at 2x CPU clock speeds which is amazing! Someone is working on the Taito F3 arcade core finally! Atari Jaguar is getting a second core apparently? Jotego is talking about Capcom CPS 3 on MiSTer FPGA progress...and a lot of new arcade cores are here too!

It´s always good have more cores, like Jaguar, but I wished they put more efforts in other systems like 3DO. At least I can play the "famous" Alien vs Predator

Excited for the Saturn core. Also, I’d love to see a video on the composite / component setups available. Don’t have a PVM / VGA but have some old CRTs i’d love to hook up to the MiSTer.

The two cores I want to see make some strides next year are the Saturn and CPS3 cores.

I already bring my MiSTer to fighting game locals running Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and aside from having to remap controllers every time you connect a new one, it works a treat. It was my big project for summer of 2022: get an ST scene off the ground.

We've already run a few tournaments with minimal problems, and I've gotten a few of my fellow players on board with MiSTers of their own to supplant what I've done. I've been away for a few months due to personal things, so I hope they've kept ST going while I'm around.

But if we could get 3rd Strike on MiSTer...man o' man o' shevitz. Not needing to bring a PS3 (or PS4) for arcade-perfect 3S would be heavenly. I might invest in a 2nd MiSTer and donate it to the scene if 3S happens. Who knows? I might even actually get good at the game (having ST gave me the inspiration to get good at that, and I'm now one of the better players in my scene, though still not top 5).

Running In the hunt on the PSX 2x core at nearly locked 60fps is pretty awesome, as it could dip into single digits on a normal psx!

Oh man, I LOVE Elevator Action Returns! I probably play that the most on my Saturn, thanks to the Satiator. It's crazy to think that over the years, this game has ONLY gotten a so-so port on PS2/Xbox (Taito Legends 2) which probably also explains why that compilation is rather pricey. It was nice to hear that it was recently ported by City Connection to Steam and current consoles, so I will have to check that out, but either way, it will be exciting to see the F3 platform running on MiSTer!

Cannot wait to see the jag core

Soo many times I got to a Paypal screen on eBay with one in my cart, but just COULD NOT justify the price ....so the jag core has me the most excited

And happy to see the psx core just getting polish, tbh. The psx core is what made me get into MiSTer... Its damn near impossible to find the PS1digital (psx HDMI mod)... So I just swooped up the parts for a MiSTer and couldn't be happier

I bought my MISTer today. I have a concern about the PSU as I live in Europe and it's coming with a USA power cable (two prongs). Is it safe to connect it to my Step-Down converter the same way I do with my retro consoles? I don't want to blow it up. Thanks.

The Taito F3 boards are also weird on actual arcade chassis. It's shows up REALLY large on any of my chassis.

Its a great time to be a Prius mister owner 😊f3, cps3 work being done and the hintet rainbow Islands core and offcoz the Saturn the future is looking bright i would say🥰im amazed though that no spoke of the c64 Update earlier that fixes the sid chip problems with digitized sounds being Waay too loud, but now it is fixed 💪💪 merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you
