-- PRESENTATION: SEKIGUCHI RYŪ IAIJUTSU --
Sekiguchi Ryū Iaijutsu was founded by Sekiguchi Hachirōzaemon Ujinari. During the Genroku Period (1688-1704), Izawa Nagahide, a retainer of the Kumamoto Domain in the Higo Province, spread Sekiguchi’s style to the extent that it became eventually known as Higo Ryū Iai.
It is also said that many retainers of the Hosokawa Clan in Higo used to compete against each other pitting the Sekiguchi Ryū techniques against those from Miyamoto Musashi’s Niten Ichi Ryū.
The 14th Headmaster of Sekiguchi Ryū, Aoki Kikuo also studied under Santō Kiyotake, himself a renowned master of the Niten Ichi Ryū. He passed down the teachings of both schools for many years during the first half of the 20th century. His lineage continues to this day.

I never seen these techniques in sekiguchi ryu! I thought sekiguchi ryu only practices solo Iai techniques. are there two differents schools of sekiguchi ryu Iaijutsu with different techniques? or these two Iaijutsu schools have the same techniques?
