I’ve had three “vocal coaches” in the past 6 months… You are showing us things that no vocal coach has even brought up. With most coaches(with me at least) every lesson has been pretty much a “warm up”… then I’m asked, ”what song are you singing this week?” The coach then listens and takes certain parts of the song and tries to have me try different vowels/breathing/timing, etc……. I’m thinking “Ummmm. I need the fundamentals before I can sing. That’s kinda why I’m paying you”. Lol. I can’t understand why most coaches do not take you thru the how and why of the fundamentals like you do!! Thank you so much!! I should have known to look for a singer from Germany😂😂

Tried a few vocal coaches and you are straightforward easy to understand and dont make me feel stuid or hopeless am definitely continuing with you thanks, you definitely don't talk too much.

You sound like the type of person I would trust and recommend as a voice teacher. There are years of work and refinement in this one video. As a "non-pop" bass-baritone I have found that a "lowered larynx" really doesn't work especially for low notes which must be relaxed, and the higher notes must be clear---"chiaroscuro." Going up the scale I do feel a pressure holding the larynx in place but I am only consciously adjusting my tongue and jaw. *Edit* lol I noticed (day after comment) that when I take a singing breath and drop my jaw slightly to sing, my larynx goes way down, and then stays in that general area. It does feel relaxed though. So take this for what it is worth for anyone reading.

Love your channel! There are a lot of internet vocal coaches and your approach is one of my favorites. Actually, I was thinking it would be super cool - especially during this age of Zoom voice lessons - for a few of the Internet vocal coaches to hold a competition on YouTube. They would all coach a beginner singer to perform a cover of the same song over a period of weeks. The lessons can be live or recorded. At the end, the singers would perform and viewers would elect the most improved, the best coach and the best overall performance.

It would give people a glimpse into the work of a vocal coach and maybe encourage some shy folks to give it a try...
