Wow I love how you’ve de stashed and made this work for you. I have to say I agree with the having to run upstairs being annoying. All my crochet things are in my husbands work office so if I don’t have what I need and he’s in a meeting I then can’t get to it, plus my little shadow following me everywhere 😂 I do love listening to your ideas and your ways of living. I also find your voice and your videos very calming. 🫶🏼🥰

Just a thought, but you might be able to fit more yarn in each bin if you arrange the yarn in neat layers. My husband and I also decided not to put our kids in day care. We are also a single income family. There were times when my husband worked more than one job. I appreciate all he has done to make it so I can stay at home and care for my own children. We have four kids. My oldest is now 19 and my youngest just turned 8. I wouldn't trade my time with them for anything. Best wishes with your reorganizing.

That must feel so satisfying to have it all organised I loved the yarns all sorted by colour. I have Kallax boxes for all my yarn and do a sort out about 1x a year. Long overdue at the moment!!!

I loved this video Heather. I did the same thing when my girls were little - brought my crochet stuff into the areas of the house where I was with them the most and it worked wonders. I was able to crochet while they played and still be available to them. Those were such special days. Now, as my girls are older (15 and 17), I am setting up a separate space for myself - my very own yarn room. Such is the ever changing nature of motherhood....yet crochet remains a constant through life, right?

Thanks for sharing Heather. Organising in a small space has been the bane of my existence for years. I always struggle to stash down my hobbies because I try to pick up new ones and never have the room. I've given/ got rid of loads of yarn but I still have a lot. I'd love to downsize to 2 tubs one day.

But sink cost fallacy always plays a part, so I keep trying to use up every inch of scrap that I can. And it sucks that I don't have any more space to use so I really have to make do and utilise the space as best of possible. There is always stuff to throw out though!!
