Goombas don't die when Mario stomps on them. Koopas don't die when Mario kicks them into an abyss. It's been 35 years since Super Mario Bros' release and we haven't seen a single goomba corpse. There's a point where you have to stop pretending that actually the burden of proof isn't on you.

Falling into lava or bottomless pits doesn't kill you. It doesn't kill Yoshi so there's no reason it kills anyone. It doesn't kill Mario, either, since you can repeat it as long as you have enough 1-UPs unless 1-UP shrooms are necromantic in nature which, since Mario seems to be joyous when recieving them instead of being apprehensive about having died and been revived countless of times, doesn't seem to be the case.

Being stomped on or hit with a fireball doesn't kill you. Dry Bones can survive being stomped on and there's no reason to believe they are more durable than Koopas or any comparable mook. I get it, goombas disappear from the screen after being stomped, but every boss from every 3D game ever explodes violently after every defeat and then comes back afterwards. If there are people that can survive exploding, then you can survive being hit by a petty fireball or some shoe, even if you're weaker than them. Hell, regular bob-ombs survived exploding in Bowser's Inside Story and they aren't really than goombas.

Seriously, I can't stop reiterating how much crazy shit Marioverse people can survive. Elder Princess Shrob was turned into a mushroom, eaten; her soul was destroyed and she was nuked in hell and was blasted into a black hole by the explosion and yet she's perfectly fine if a bit shivery in Bowser's fridge. Call it a retcon, I don't care. Somebody currently having all their organs scooped out with a rusty spoon would refuse to trade places with the Marioverse Grim Reaper.

If Mario kills Bowser's minions then why doesn't he ever seem to have a problem restocking them? He has rescued the princess thousands of times by now. If he killed 1% of enemies every time, they would all be extinct by now.

In Bowser's Inside Story, the minions are implied to have met Mario countless times and they are still alive.

Pretty much the only way for a Mario baddie to die is to be an RPG villain and even then half their deaths are either suicides or fake.
