Creatures 3 (1999, CD-Rom)

Показать описание
Creatures is a video game trilogy developed by Creature Labs. This is a gameplay video of the third and final game in the series. The gameplay is almost identical to the first two titles in the series, which allow you to breed your own population of Norns (which are thousand year old creatures created by a highly intelligent race known as the Shee).
Even though the gameplay is near identical to its predecessors, however, this final entry in the video game series does feature a lot of improvement in terms of the AI of the Norns.
The average lifespan of your Norn(s) is around 7 hours. It's the player's task to not only breed new Norns, but also teach them all sorts of things to survive and how to behave. In essence, you'll become their parents and you'll need to raise them as good as possible.
This 3th Creatures edition has 6 rooms to explore: Norn Terranium, Grendel Jungle, Ettin Desert, Marine area, Bridge, and the Engineering Room.
The game was originally released for Windows 95/98/ME/NT on CD-ROM.
Creatures 3 Storyline:
Shee have left Albia in a spaceship, the Shee Ark, to search for a more spherical world. The Ark was abandoned by the Shee because a meteor hit the ship, but the infrastructure still remains in working order.
About the Creatures video game series:
Creatures is an artificial life (alife) simulator series, created in the 90's by English computer scientist Steve Grand whilst working for the Cambridge video games developer Millennium Interactive. The first game was released for Windows 3.1 in 1996.
Gameplay focuses on raising alien creatures known as Norns. A complete life cycle is modelled for the creatures - childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and senescence, each with their own particular needs. The gameplay is designed to foster an emotional bond between the player and their creatures. Rather than taking a scripted approach, Creatures series games were driven by detailed biological and neurological simulation and their unexpected results.
Creatures is a biological simulation. You start with six eggs of Norns, cute little creatures who live in an imaginary world. Your task is to give them knowledge about the world they live in, learn them how to speak, how to use toys, an elevator, how to eat etc. They will eventually grow older, reproduce themselves and die. The game uses its own genetics system, as well as biochemical and neurological calculations to determine the evolution of Norns and the way their DNA would develop in their descendants.
