NRB is not a high-flow device. A true high flow device provides all of the patient's inspiratory flow, which creates a stable and fixed FiO2. NRB is a low-flow, variable FiO2 device because it does not provide the entire inspiratory flow a patient needs. What you set a flowrate to on a flow meter does not indicate whether a device is "low-flow" or "high-flow."
