Buckskin vs dun: what is the difference between the two colors?

Ever wondered what the difference was between the color buckskin vs dun is in a horse? This short video shows two horses, one a buckskin-the other a dun.

A buckskin is also a bay with just one cream gene. If it were two cream genes he'd be a Perlino (even paler!).

yes we always called them lineback duns. I didn't know about the frosting though.

I sm so confused with mine. He has the frosting on the mane, as well as the lines on the leg but he is missing that line on the back… would he still be a dun?!🤔

buckskins have strip down the back they are tan color with black points and dark mane and tail some have zebra stripes on legs.
