My town's Lowes has a drive through lumber section. Drive your car/truck into it, load the stuff in your car right from the shelves, then go pay and show receipt at the door on way out. Saves you time loading it onto a cart and then into you're truck.

I think the tabletop may be hotter in the summer unless kept totally in the shade. I'm sure it will be much more weather resistant.
You may find it harder to find more Heartwood redwood today.
Heartwood is the only thing resistant to decay.
I know you'll do a good job.

I wish that synthetic lumber came in a white flavor. Can you paint it? It looks plastic based. They did carry some product that was a word/glass type composite that was in the 2x6 or 2x8 size for house fascias and patios.
