Hidan's recruitment should have been the point Konan should have started questioning what the Akatsuki had become. She, Yahiko, and Nagato started the group to obtain peace, but people like Hidan don't want peace and just want to kill for the sake of killing. In fact, I think Itachi was really the only Akatsuki member outside of the founders that actually wanted peace.
