Great advice. I didn’t start competing until brown belt and it was definitely a steep learning curve.

Completely agree regarding takedowns. With any other move, jiu jitsu classes are very focused on both the defense and the offense. With takedowns sometimes it’s just a little “here’s a single leg good luck.” It’s important to get reps in getting taken down too so you know what to expect and can minimize the damage in terms of both points and injuries.

Bernardo faria for me is the biggest exemple of the guy who learn how win the jiujitsu game, the guy beat a lot big names just doing half guard sweaps and submissions coming that too
