What you said about bringing the tree in to protect it (and its fairy companions) rang a bell with me. As a child, I instinctively knew that bringing the tree into the warm was a part of the whole magic of Christmas.

When I was nine years old, I went to a Catholic School. They told me Christmas was all about a God I hated with a passion (because, apparently, he was more than willing to send me to Hell for all eternity). I went right of Christmas, for a while. It took me a long while to get the magic back.

As for cutting down forests, my Christmas tree lives in a flower pot on my window sill. He's in the warm the whole year through!

Jan 6... Dia de Los Reyes (day of the kings). It's celebrated by most Hispanics. My mom is Puerto Rican and I notice almost all Puerto Ricans celebrate it. It's suppose to be a celebration of the three wise men.

Thank you for a wonderful explanation of Yule! I always enjoy these videos. I had a question though: at the moment I'm getting ready to celebrate Yule, because I live in the Southern Hemisphere, and I was wondering if the 12 days of christmas thing still applies during the june/july period? Or is it strictly a December thing? And am I right in assuming the astrological correspondence for Yule over here would be Gemini/Cancer? Thanks :) :)

In Sweden we celebrate Jul (Christmas). We say God Jul! (Merry Christmas). That is probably Good Yule :-)
