As a sixth grader, I can confirm that people at my lunch table don’t know basic math. (No really, I try to hide being annoyed.) One person thought 999, 999*999, 999 is EXACTLY 1e12 because they used their calculator from their watch. They seemed confused when 1, 000, 000*1, 000, 000 on their watch was also 1e12. They also don’t know what a factor is.
