A closer look at the Mastercraft edition of TrueScale Miniatures' 1:8 scale replica of Jody Scheckter's 1976 Swedish Grand Prix winning Tyrrell P34.

The 1976 Swedish Grand Prix at Anderstorp was, of course, the six-wheeler's only grand prix victory. Scheckter took pole and won the race, followed home by his team-mate Patrick Depailler from fourth on the grid. The 1:8 Tyrrell P34 replica is made of resin so, unlike the 1:18 version, there is no removable bodywork. But that doesn't detract from what is an amazing piece; the detail is absolutely astounding. It also measures a whopping 50cm in length! TrueScale has replicated the Cosworth DFV engine perfectly, accurately recreating the fuel injectors and the fine mesh over the air intakes.

We are impressed with the Kevlar effect that lines the interior of the cockpit, and this Tyrrell model probably has the most realistic race worn tyres we've ever seen. Other nice touches include the fabric Willans branded racing harness, and the tyre weights that actually look as if they have been duct taped to the wheels! But don't just take our word for it; visit the product page on our website to watch the special 'In Focus' product video we've made to see for yourself. Limited to just 50 pieces worldwide, TrueScale's 1:8 replica is, without doubt, the best ever replica of the Tyrrell P34 we have ever seen, and probably ever will see. It doesn't get much more special (or exclusive) than this.

If the body and wing were available separately, I might kid myself into attempting a 1/8 RC build

I have the 1:18 version of this car. Happy to report that the detail on that one is exquisite as well for those who can't quite shell out the big bucks for one of these amazing 1:8 scale pieces.
