"The little move around thingy" - Trackpoint, is what made the trackpad buttons ar the top, so you can never move your hands away from keyboard and use index for trackpoint cursor movement and thumbs for "mouse" clicks. It is awesome!

You also mixed left and right side panels when reviewing..

The trackpoint (the red pointy "stick thing") is godly once you have experience with it.

The keyboard is not "the exact same keyboard as the Legion without the numpad". I don't know whether it feels the same but the layout is different. The P1 has dedicated page up and page down keys whereas the Legion doesn't. The spacing around the function keys is also different, with the P1 having slight separation around each group of F keys which is advantageous for programmers needing to find various F keys by touch. The Legion doesn't seem to have that separation.

X1 Extreme is no more, it was merged with the P1 series. The trackpoint is perfect, all you have to do is practice a little with it, the key to learn how to use it correctly is understanding that translates pressure to movement with speed, the least pressure you put, the slower will move, the more pressure you put the faster will move, so you have to train to be delicate when you push it. IBM's algorithm that Lenovo got, is great and they keep optimizing it every year.

avoid trying to use it like a joystick in game control, you don't put full pressure, all the pressure you need is the pressure your skin when you touch it from above and you just move slightly your finger without pressuring with your bone.

with the 180 hinge you can use a laptop stand and have it completely vertical occupying minimal space in your desk.

This laptop and something like Linux Mint or maybe a Windows 11 Pro and Linux Mint dual boot system would be amazing

For your battery life test, did you have the dedicated GPU enabled? For the drastically shorter tasks I could see it being enabled (the bottom two graphs), but for the 6:05:00 video streaming test, did you have it enabled? Or did you have it in some sort of Hybrid iGPU mode?

I guess that brings me to another question. Does this laptop have a MUX switch, and can you toggle dGPU/Hybrid iGPU (basically uses only iGPU on battery, turns the dGPU back on when plugged in) on or off without having to go into bios? Or does it have that option at all even in bios? That's the main dealbreaker for me

Great videos. The P1 Gen 6 does not have a digitizer, thus it has no inking capability with a traditional stylus pen.

None of the available screens for the P1 Gen 6 have a digitizer

I am concerned about Lenovo's lack of quality control. Lenovo releases their products with some crutial defecits especially if it is initial lot. This model has also some trouble reported by users on the official website. In my case, it was caused by incorrect soldering process on the board.
In the past, high-end models were manufactured in Japan, so the quality was perfect. I hope Lenovo manufactures the high-end products in the advanced country, not in China.

@9:23 - Where would the Asus G14 2024 would stack up in that Photoshop + After Effects chart? (not sure why for example the 2023 G14 isn't there. maybe it's scores much lower? hence the 2024 G14 too?)

Why do they not have USB C on both sides on premium laptops?

I had my eyes set on the new DELL XPS 16, but this Lenovo seems to be an alternative. A pity the Lenovo does not have USB C charging.

This laptop does not support pens. Lenovo does not offer a workstation laptop with pen support.
