Greater Lawrence Family Health Center

The GLFHC and it’s dedicated staff works to meet the mission of improving and maintaining the health of individuals and families in the Merrimack Valley by providing a network of high quality, comprehensive health care services and by training healthcare professionals to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population – but Greater Lawrence Family Health Center is more than just seeing a doctor.

GLFHC trains culturally competent physicians to meet the needs of a community disproportionately affected by the social determinants of health as well as complex health issues such as HIV and homelessness.

Although the Health Center’s presence in the community has been felt on a number of fronts, Lawrence continues to experience health disparities as evidenced by elevated rates for asthma, diabetes, respiratory infections, teen pregnancy, and lead paint poisoning. GLFHC’s programs are structured to eliminate these gaps by effectively integrating social programs with clinical services. As they work to improve the health status of patients, GLFHC places strong emphasis on providing a prevention-oriented approach.
