Don't say 'lazy' - K-ON! ED [Piano]

Ah, K-ON! These were really good times. I could never forget the moment, when I was watching the awesome ending animation of episode 1 while listening [don't say "lazy"] for the first time. I really can't believe K-ON! has aired more than a decade ago. K-ON! was so hyped back then, it attracted an equal amount of both haters and hardcore fans and they were fighting with each other on the internet constantly. These were really good old times (笑).

Anyway, recording this week's upload was more exhausting than expected, because this is one of the most intense arrangements I have done for a while. It's basically FULL POWER from start to finish, without any breaks. It also holds a record for the largest number of glissando I have ever used in my arrangements: 8 times in total. (including a two-hand glissando in 3:28)

This arrangement requires quite a lot of stamina for the left hand because it is constantly playing alternating rhythmic patterns throughout the whole piece - like a drummer. Thanks to a certain rhythm game I have been playing since 2019, I started to focus more on the rhythmic variations in the left hand, whenever I am improvising a new song.

The biggest challenge of this arrangement was actually figuring out the unique melody pattern for the bridge part in 3:01. I still have no idea what kind of musical scale I was using but it does a good job building up a lot of tension leading to the climax in 3:05.

I have to say, it's been a while since I have so much fun recording a new piece because I rarely have the opportunity to play fortissimo for almost 4 minutes nonstop. I particularly enjoyed playing these rhythmic variations the left hand. In fact, in one of my earlier takes, I was subconsciously stomping my left foot while playing to match the rhythm and it was so loud, it even became audible in the recording. I needed to record a new take again (笑)

No idea what I am going to cover next week though.
Definitely another nostalgia Anime song I guess but I still haven't decided yet.

In any case -
see you next week!

Bro can we just have a moment of silence for the fact that we’re getting

After re-watching both Seasons of K-ON! last week I can't help but just feel nostalgic about it. The lighthearted atmosphere of Ho-kago Tea Time, their live performances together and the graduation ceremony episode... it almost feels like I am "home" again in my early years of an Anime fan.
Sorry for being a little bit sentimental here but I just wanted to say: I love Anime. And it just saddens me to think about the fate of Kyoto Animation after the arson incident last year...

As always, thank you for listening to my piano arrangements. (´;ω;`)

You spend your childhood wanting to grow up and you spend your adulthood wishing you were a child again.

I can't believe it's been over a decade since this anime came out. Time flies and it's frightening.

I've always found it very difficult to arrange songs from K-ON because the original songs are quite repetitive, and there aren't a lot of counter-melodies that you could make use of. That's why I especially love the variations you did in this arrangement and how you took the liberty with adding glissandos so often.

Mugi is not the best girl but the strongest girl - she could carry that KORG around like nothing.

I audibly gasped when I saw the title. K-ON is my favorite anime ever.

This reminds a bit of the Pokémon battle songs, at least the bit at the beginning.
