Before we hunt threats, let's talk about a challenging question! Why complete protection against cyberattacks is not possible? How even the best defenses can sometimes fail?

There are multiple explanations for why complete protection isn't possible. The ever-changing threat landscape, complex digital systems, Zero-day vulnerabilities, and skilled attackers all play a role. Users are part of this, but putting all the blame on them isn't entirely fair.

While the above reasons are all valid, more fundamental factors contribute to this situation:

• The classic security-usability-cost triangle.
• The Swiss cheese models.
• Scope X.

Several organizations of all sizes have no idea how many devices are really being used in their infrastructure or by their users. They are aware of that, but no one consider that vulnerability critical until they are struck by a malware attack. I wish having an accurate, updated and detailed inventory was the utmost priority before buying several cybersecurity solutions that promise to protect from anything.
