Rediscover the forest through the fresh viewpoint of a Papuan chief born in Papua New Guinea: Mundiya Kepanga, the "child of the forest". This traditional storyteller unveils the extent of the deforestation that has drastically accelerated in his country in recent years.

Following his journey as an environmental defender, from his own village to the largest international symposiums, the film delivers a new way to look at the planet: our forests are a universal heritage that we have to save.

Committed to this cause, Mundiya Kepanga becomes an ambassador of the forest and the voice of indigenous people. A call to protect the world’s primal forests, reminding us that we are all the brothers of the trees.

Literally in tears. Heartbreaking that we've allowed this to happen to our planet.

As a son of Samoa, my heart and support is with you all my Pacific brothers and sisters.

I have watched 100s of docs/videos of PNG. And this is in my top 3 of my fav movies showcasing PNG.

OMG this video brought me to tears. What a beautiful soul this man is. There is horrific deforestation all around the world, including the Amazon, as well as US and Canada. Bless Robert Redford for his work and the tireless work of this wonderful chief. The amount of atmospheric oxygen is slowly decreasing. It's frightening. Blessings

As a fellow Papuan from West Papua, his first monologue feels like my ancestors speaks directly into my soul.
Deforestation prolonged with large scale Palm oil plantations are destroying our forest in the whole island. From West Papua to PNG, we are experiencing this phenomena where we are loosing our nature into 'economy'.
Moreover, most of our leaders are either not bright or too corrupted to implement such a clever way to develop our economy while keeping our sacred and pristine nature intact.

My admiration and respect of Chief Kepanga Mudina . My prayers for his safety, hope it will never happen to him what was done to other environment preservations advocates. I am with him and the rest with genuine advocate against deforestration .

🙌 Wow!! I must have watched countless videos & documentaries about global destruction of primal forests but this honestly is the first time I have been actually affected emotionally....maybe it is the straightforward simplicity and honesty of the chief that hits the raw chord of even passive cynics like me.
Hats off to all the wonderful people involved in the making of this movie🎉, thank you & God bless!!

I live close to the HoH rainforest in Washington state I’m Native American and I know the Chief’s heart and what his words mean. There are many people who have sickness in their hearts who only can cure themselves with Money and greed and don’t care for Mother Earth or what she has given us! It takes courage from others to stand up and fight against the murdering of our planet!! ThIs is all I have to say, please be kind to our mother without her we will not survive!😢

This story of the forest, our prestine Nature....we should all weep upon its vast destruction...and stand to protect it hand in hand...Otherwise soon we will go without air to breath, water to drink, and no place for living...
Thanks The Chief of Papua, film crue, and everyone who took part in making this awareness....🙏❤️🌿🌄

When you hear this man and you really start listening, even if by some miracle you were not aware of the situation it really hits you hard, when I saw that tree and how he's talking about it being one of the oldest trees in the world, I cried. Nature is beautiful but soon we won't have anymore nature.

A fantastically well put together documentary. From the editing, story telling, cinematography, and central character to his empathy, understanding and non judgementalness for the loggers and the root causes at the lowest level of the deforestation machine, and beyond to his message and international collaboration.

Bravo, well done!!

I wish I could visit and experience the culture of these native tribes across the world. If only the big tech companies and the hug corporations that enjoy destroying our world. This guy is trying to save it still, a true warrior journey of ever there was one.

I agree with him, people and greed and power hungry ways will destroy us all, we’re not all the same I love the forest like you
