How is it possible that Apple didn't allow the continued use of 49" external monitors and MacBooks in Ventura? Everything workd fine in OS X 12 and here I am scrounging the web for 3rd party apps to make my monitor work like it did an hour ago. Geez. Thank you for posting this. I was super unhappy but now much better.

Thank you! I was able to get my M2 MacBook Pro to have 1920 x 1080 resolution for my screen recordings. Really wish this was available natively. SwitchResX is worth every penny though.

The resolution doesn’t have to be supported by your display - it emulates pixel density, just a sidebar 😁

I’m having an issue when I set up custom resolution . First it shows, Not saved then I did save and exit. And also Restarted but after that it shows not installed .

Thanks for this super helpful video! When I set up my custom resolution, and save/restart, I get a Not Active - invalid? message in the status field. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

When i try to use a stretched resolution (1024x768), it just make a square with black side bars. I need help.
