DREAMKEEPERS: Nainso, Woods, Damon & Bill - The Job Offer

Показать описание
Dreamkeepers must become an animated cartoon one day! I want to see one fully animated with voice acting, SFXs and music before I go to my grave! Mua ha ha ha! XXD
But yeah I just want to say that the real hero here (well besides the obvious that are the creators to this amazing graphic novel series - Dave and Liz Lillie), in terms of the voice acting, I really want to hand it to Kovabomb - he NAILED Nainso's voice.
I still remember that evening when I contacted Chris on Skype in request to audition for the character Nainso. I just knew I had to get him to voice the guy cuz I could picture exactly how he would sound like when I read his dialogue in my head.
Chris is a natural in live auditions, cuz when I'm directing from the other end of the booth I ask him to do a few lines for any character I have him auditioning for in a certain tone, pitch or accent and after a few adjustments he hits that perfect note.
Sometimes it's not so easy, I'd get him to go for a few more variations until it sounds just right to my ears, in fact when I'm feeling lost he proactively gives me suggestions based on his own interpretation of the character based off his observations of the characters visual design, it's personality and dialogue given.
For Nainso's voice I was looking for something eloquent, sharp and classy. Chris delivered especially on the "do you understand...", "Gentlemen...", and "Take those insightful yet subtle..." lines. You can hear the precision, clever short pauses and sophistication of his tone.
Perhaps you may think that Nainso's voice in this comic drama is not what you'd imagine it to be and I encourage you to do so if that is the case because remember, everyone has a different interpretation on the voices of certain characters in the book and really that's quite a beautiful thing on it's own. Having the ability to replicate that 'voice' in your head through silent mediums such as fiction/non fiction literature, comics and graphic novels takes creative skill and imagination - it's a rather rewarding sensation to attain that!
As for my part, I made Bill sound like some tech geek with a high pitch, Damon a pom and Woods a punchy, yet laid back American guy... Lol XXXD I don't know, I suck at making descriptions of what I sound like but you get the idea.
So far I've performed several voices in the book and I do it because not only do I love voice acting but I can. I'm not the best out there and certainly I didn't do several voices to boost my ego, I do it because I really get a kick out of 'listening' to favourite stories of mine - the ones that are really special to me.
Every time I read Dreamkeepers I read it like I'm watching a movie, and the quality of the cinematic visuals, story line, character designs, setting design, pacing and writing in the book makes it a really easy and smooth journey - making the experience more enjoyable than one can imagine.
Anyways enough of my blabbing on, I just want to say that Chris did an excellent job voicing as Nainso, I'm happy with my interpretations of the trio and I want to let you know that I didn't focus on the visuals (which btw a noise filter was deliberately applied to give it look that you get from an animated cartoon being screened on an old TV screen) as much as I'd like to, it's more about the SOUND. 'Listen and feel'.
Oh and to Dave & Liz, here's another DK drama filled with Aussie voices and one true American voice over. XD Hope ya enjoyed this as much as I had making it! *thumbs up*
