What's the point of buying a USA PRS if it's going to come in that finish? Would much rather get an SE at a fraction of the price (and it'll sound the same....).

I had a 89 standard in pearl white gloss. It was from a 5 guitar show order. 5 way rotary which I really got used to, birds, picture the Dave Navarro without gold hardware. The very best guitar I've ever owned

I had a Suhr with that open pore mahogany finish. No thanks! The neck is going to get sticky, and those open pores are going to get gummed up with skin, sweat, and oil, and there's nothing you can do about it. You can wipe it with naphtha and steel wool, but it won't stop the process. And the top will get shiny spots where your arm and hand touch.

If you absolutely have to have that unfinished, open pore body, then the CE24 swamp ash with 24-08 is a far better option. You'll get the crappy satin finish, but with a wonderful neck and insanely good switching options. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper!

I love the pickups and the pickup rings! Black is the only way I’d go.
I could appreciate nickel hardware but the smoked black is sleek and modern :) reminds me of a Rado watch.

Not sure that comparing the SE CE to the standard is a fair comparison. As CE is a bolt on neck not a glued neck.

I love PRS but cant afford one. I really like my IYV (Inyen Vina)
IP-300-TSB, PRS copy that bought from Amazon. It's beautiful, plays well, sounds great, and was inexpensive. I'm good.

I'd rather have the gloss finish with the chrome pickup cover and tuning machines. The rest is fine.
