Such a great song! Eliza's vocals are heavenly and sexy. The arrangement is simple .. yet simply perfect ... not a wasted note. If one knew nothing about quantum physics it still makes sense as a pure love song. If you do know a little about quantum physics .... the duality of the lyrics can be appreciated ... romantic love and quantum physics ... both inherently unknowable.
I have learned a lot and enjoy the BBC documentaries narrated by Jim al Khalili. This song woke me in the middle of the night while sleeping to YouTube. I was compelled to investigate the source. Many kudos to Mr. Goodman, Eliza and everyone else involved in this recording and production.

That moment when you realize the lyrics are referencing the theory Jim was describing. Brilliant!

I wrote one more verse to this song ... :-)

I search every night
I look all around
I look left and right
But then you’re up, and down-
stairs, and I’m stuck with being
Tangled up with you.

Putting on a positive spin on things, a quarky little number that is charming, not at all strange and right up there with a momentum of its own.

Pretty girl, Eliza, and a clever idea of the original programme's creative team to base the visuals on the 1920s, the time when quantum mechanics really began to be taken seriously.
I'm very pleased you like it, Maria and thanks so much for the comment. Have a great day! XXX

If you're like me, you loved the song. So I figured out the lyrics, enjoy:

You got a heart thats theres no way of knowing,

You can see where you are, but can't see where you're going.

And I'm stuck here still, I'm tangled up with you.

I know I deserve you, I know you're my savior.

But when I observe you, you change your behavior.

So I'm stuck here still,

I'm tangled up with

This whole world can be so uncertain,

but you can bet I'll still be hurting,

when you say our wedding vows to somebody

Well I've seen some things, I've been around.

But darling, there's not a finer thing I've found,

I'll always be so tangled up with

I'll always be so tangled up with

Watched this documentary 5 times over (no joke) and every time something beautiful comes out of it. This song lives rent free on my mind

This is PROOF that you can find everything and ANYTHING you want on YouTube. I watched Einsteins Nightmare and wondered who the singer was. She had a great voice. Now I can hear her again without Jim talking AND I know her name. Thanks for posting.

Seriously beautiful song for a documentary!
Would be great if we have the full length hi-res song released.

IMHO, BBC's documentaries are the best in the world. The production values are second to none. The nuances of this catchy song are yet another example of documentary excellence.

I knew exactly what she was talking about. As soon as she said, you can see where you are, but can’t see where you’re going.
