I own this amp and this paired with a Benson Nathan Jr. in stereo is the bees knees. Thanks for highlighting this, I love this amp so much.

Even if I'm not particularly interested in the gear being shown, I know that I'll learn something about tone and recording just from listening to Mark play, demo and explain. For example, this video inspired me to use my Humboldt Simplifier differently. Great stuff as always!

What a lovely sounding amp. I really need something like this amp in my life.

How am I supposed to know what not to buy when you make everything sound so damn good? 😭

This is great. I have the Morgan AC20 and I love that amp. I bought it specifically because I could never turn up my Vox amps (AC30’s for 30 years and then an AC15 for 6 years) for the glorious sounds they can produce. Ow, when I was younger nobody was complaining about volume, but in the last decade or so things changed drastically. You can’t be loud anymore unless you’re playing large stages and venues.
Anyway, I decided to buy the Morgan AC20, because you can make the sound you want and then turn the power down to everything between 20 Watts and a half Watts. It works really well.
But the AC5 is just something that appeals to me. For fun and for recording purposes.

Thanks for the demo! 🧡

Hey Mark, another great demo. What you play/compose is always artistically pleasing but, at the same time leaves room to hear the attributes of what you're demonstrating.

For a lot of the smaller gigs, rehearsals, and song-writing jams I do, even my Magic Amps Brit MK2 (AC15) style amp is actually too loud. I can't believe I bludgeoned my ears (and everyone else's) with an AC30 in small clubs for so long!

The only problem I've found when I've tried smaller, like the Vox AC4 I have, Champs etc. is that although the volume is right, they're just so much thinner sounding in even a low volume live mix - even run into a 1 x 12". I could lug an attentuator & my main amp I guess but, well for the sake of my back I'm trying to lessen the carry not increase it! It also seems silly to cart a lot of gear to a small room jam.

So I guess if I have a question. Does this AC5 really sound this good/big in the room? How much is it being expanded in the recording via your signal path & anything happening EQ/compression wise in post?

Okay, how long till we can get a video on the new electroharmonic abyss oceans?
I don't care what other people think of this particular piece of equipment, but I'm really kind of super anticipatory to see your video of what you can do with it.
Hope you find a way to get one really soon. Be looking forward to seeing and hearing the combination 👍😁

Another great demo! I wish I could afford a tube amplifier, I just have a 5 watt pignose amp and a partsçaster, they sound good but I need something better. I've become a really good guitar player with lots of dynamic range in music styles, so I'm looking forward to getting an amp and pedals. I'm having to start from nothing at age 50 it's a struggle without a job or vehicle.

A great sounding amp. But I think I would quickly get ear fatigue.

Love the sound, love the special colorway...can't stand the fact it's $1000. That's a REAL hard sell for me.

Hi Mark - What’s the dimensions on the AC5? I’m looking to pick one up but want to make sure it will sit on a 1x12 cab I have. Thanks and great video.

GAH. I’m such a sucker for chiming Voxy touch dynamic breakup. Throw in some comp, clean boost, OD, and wet effects to play around with and I’m good. Boy do I miss my Gabriel Voxer 18 when I listen to stuff like this. 😭

Very similar to the Silktone Micronaut and same with pricing…
But I love the natural breakup of this amp!! Thx

These sound great, I’ve been curious about how they sound cranked. Obviously at 5w I don’t expect tons of headroom but if they can stay clean loud… I’m buying

The Clean tones are truly amazing but the overdriven ones are not as good in my opinion, unless we talk about that ''amp's going to blow up'' sound as you did on 10:37 ))

Sorry, I'm assuming that the beginning of the "Gain Range" section was the dry amp sound?
