As someone who has met Anand in person, Anand is a very intelligent person.
If he had gone to some other career, like his close relatives, he would have gone to IIT, IIM, top medical school, MIT, or Stanford.
Most importantly, he is a very humble and nice person.
He is a gift for India and humanity.

Honestly if I could hang with any of the living world champions for a beer or whatever it would 100% be Anand. His career not only spans multiple world champion careers but he also ushered in India as a chess super power and seems to be the best conversationalist. Good sense of humor but won’t suffer a fool either.
