Honestly, I don't do cichlids, but I'm so glad you do. I can see them, learn about them, and enjoy them. They just would never do well in my nano and small tanks, lol.

Great video. I also think it's very important to pick the proper size of sand. In my experience if you use the very fine sugar sand with peacocks and haps they stir it up so much that way way too much ends up in the filter. The sugar sized is perfect for the tangs, but for fish over 5 or 6 inches I like the larger grain sand

All your tanks look spectacular! My fav is the tangs!! I use the Caribsea premium sand... Its really fine for small sifting cichlids... keep up the good work 💯👍

Thanks this video confirmed that I found the same exact sand for free near a dessert in texas when traveling/working, yes I'm a truck driver and I grabbed a full bucket of this super fine and same color sand you showed.

1:12 I ALWAYS use this sand ... 1:18 so this sand is not in this tank, or that tank

I’m going to be setting up an African chiclid tank soon and iv got Caribea sea Tiahetan moon sand black n with a bit of sparkle and using volcano rock to finish off with a browny red 3d foam background looks very nice on what iv soon on YouTube Carnt wait to set it up so I need to clean it out before adding it to tank?wash the sand? Also I have 2 big bolders of volcano rocks can I use a hammer n bolster to smash it up into smaller pieces?cheers please get back to me 👍🏻

need your expertise...what is rhe main difference in caribsea supernaturals and African mix? I can get #50 lbs super naturals for around $26 and the mix is $27 for 20lbs...thanks phil
