Still can’t believe we get an elite tier producer giving us this for free

I was 5 minutes in when I realized that it’s a billboard level producer showing us his work for free. What did we do to deserve this?

The point he makes at the end is absolutely crucial. You need to know all of the technicals…why do you cut certain things around 200-400hz, high passing tracks so they clean up and image better, ratios, knees, Q and high level automation. But that’s all just the prerequisite. That’s a GIVEN. It’s all in service of your creativity, musical taste and ability to work closely with an artist. That’s the stuff that gets you hired *for real*

The pre-chorus drum fill is from “That Sound Drumline Deluxe” sample pack, the name of the file is “105 Song H 02 Full Performance”. And Ian pitched it up 4 steps.

The fact that this information comes free is unreal 🤟

I like Ian's humor! It makes him relatable, plus it seems like a big part of how he enjoys himself. Awesome stream. Thanks for the edit Sol State!

This was the first dua lipa song i heard from when she hit the mainstream. I was beyond blown away (as someone who had been producing for only months).
So incredible to see the breakdown

it's crazy how much content exists thanks to people like you and Ian to help learn the process of producing. When I first started in 2014 barely half of this info was so easily publicly accessible and I'm sure people older then me would laugh as they had near nothing

Extremely well produced track from a guy who clearly knows what he is doing at the top of his game! Clean and crisp production! Unreal.

i missed the streaming but i have a little tip for the "half time recording", in my country there's a big artist that makes use of this technique in an awesome way (Tha Supreme) if you feel the track is just too fast to sing or rap over it without making mistakes or it feeling like you're actually chasing the song you can lower the bpm by 10-15bpm or even more (keep track of that tempo, don't forget it), just meet your needs, then sing/rap over it normally, then what you do is importing back the vocal and changing the tempo of the sample like you would do with a loop, let's say the loop is 100 bpm and your song is 115, it's the same technique, , in fl studio you open up the sampler and then right click on "Time" in time stretching and then you click "autodetect", then "type in bpm" and you enter the bpm the vocal was recorded at, then in the time stretching corner you set the mode to e3 mono / e3 generic (which sounds best), you'll see the vocal will have a very natural feeling while being faster and also keeping the key it was recorded at. you can do the same with vocals you already have in your sound library
